Our story
Caretum Health started from a problem we experienced firsthand. Our co-founder Betty spent years working as a licensed pharmacist and pharmacy manager — and saw the staffing crisis up close. When a pharmacist called in sick or a technician quit without notice, the scramble to find coverage pulled focus away from patients. Phone trees, last-minute agency calls, and outdated systems made a difficult situation worse.
That frustration became the seed for Caretum Health. What started as a mission to solve pharmacy staffing shortages evolved into something bigger: a platform that connects healthcare facilities of all kinds with credentialed professionals who are ready to work. The same pain point exists across nursing homes, assisted living facilities, clinics, and hospitals — understaffed shifts, slow hiring processes, and too much time spent on logistics instead of care.
We built Caretum Health in Portland, Oregon to change that. Facilities post open shifts, qualified professionals claim them directly, and everyone moves faster. Every professional on the platform is license-verified, credential-checked, and background-screened before they ever step into a facility. No middlemen, no guesswork, no wasted time.

Elkana is the key strategist behind the platform, leading its architecture, design, and development. He brings deep technical expertise and a hands-on approach to solving the operational challenges that healthcare facilities face every day.
Betty
Co-Founder
Worked as a licensed pharmacist and pharmacy manager for years before dedicating herself fully to Caretum Health. Betty experienced the staffing crisis firsthand — managing shifts with missing staff, scrambling to find last-minute coverage, and watching patient care suffer as a result. That experience drove her to co-found Caretum Health. She now leads operations, facility partnerships, and ensures the platform reflects the real needs of healthcare teams on the ground.
